In search of paradise: Ko Phi Phi

Season greetings to you all!!!
Micki is uploading photos so you're stuck with me again. We can't post any pictures from here so you will have to go in to Mickis and my photos from the link on the right.
Our last day in Patong was great! Toffe made arrangements so that we could spend the day up in the resort he works for so we really got to play "package tourists" for the day. We lounged by the pool, played water polo and took part in water gymnastics all of which were arranged by Toffe (in a very swedish accent, much to our enjoyment).
On the 22nd we took the boat out to Ko Phi Phi. Now there is not much to say about Phi Phi because you wouldn't believe me anyway. Let's just say that if Ko Phayam was the kebab of islands, we just found the filet mignon. Clear water, perfect snorkeling, amazing scenery and ofcourse a very youthful and vibrant atmosphere(+ or - depending on where you stay on the island). On the 23rd we made a snorkeling tour of Phi phi Don, Phi Phi Lay and Bamboo island (Yes, we went to Maya Bay from the movie "the beach" and yes, it was very nice but did not look anything like it did in the movie). The surrounding islands are amazing as you can see from Mickis and my photos (finally updated my photos).
We also spent quite a lot of time with Hanes friends Toffe and Fanny (not to be confused with my cousin Toffe). It was nice to have some company, that also extended into the later hours of the 23rd. Christmas eve was spent with a mild hangover (the first one of the trip) but we did not lose out on much as it started raining (rain that is still ongoing). Christmas dinner was a feast at a nice Italian restaurant. This was the perfect solution as it did not cause too many memories of home to creep up on us but still gave the evening a little celebration. Besides mussel, tiger prawns, steaks and pancakes are a very nice meal in their own way :)
Now we are in Krabi, and as I previously mentioned, it is raining ... pouring in fact so we have cashed in our chips and are going back north. According to the weather service it will rain and be stormy for another week so it is pointless to stay here. We are taking the night bus today up to BKK and will then consider our next move (Laos, Vietnam or Cambodia). Krabi will have to wait till after we get back from our northern loop.
We hope you all had a great christmas!!!

Hejsan! Låter helt otroligt med fina sandstränder och simturer i det turkosa vattnet. Fint att ni njuter!! Det var säkert klokt att välja italienskt till middag...:o)
